iPhone & Ipad - Image sizing

We offer images in a diverse array of formats suitable for smartphones, desktop/laptop monitors, and 4K ultra-high-definition printables.

Please note that to achieve a full-screen display on some devices, cropping may be necessary. This is also true for wall art prints, where resizing may be needed to match your chosen canvas size.

Image cropping is typically automated on smartphones or computers, adjusting images to fit screen resolutions. This may result in the edges of an image being trimmed or removed to fit the screen. The same principle applies to ordering physical artwork.

Smartphones
  • Free images: HD 1080 x 1920 (16:9 ratio)

  • Premium Images: 4K (16:9 ratio)

Although most modern smartphones feature a 16:9 screen ratio, devices with larger screens may use an 18:9 ratio. A 16:9 image can still be displayed adequately on an 18:9 device, but may be cropped or zoomed to fit. If an image does not fit your screen correctly, you can typically adjust the settings by looking under ‘wallpaper’ to select ‘extend image’ or ‘crop to fit’.

For foldable phones, which can have a ratio of 4:2:3 (2152 x 1563 pixels), we advise that while 16:9 images may be compatible, we cannot guarantee perfect fit due to device variances.

Desktops and Laptops

Screen ratios for computer monitors and laptops vary widely, with 16:9 being the most common.

  • Free images: HD 1920 x 1080 (16:9)

  • Premium images: 4K

  • Premium 4K ultra widescreen: 3440 x 1440 (32:9)

  •

Both Windows and macOS allow image resizing to fit your screen’s exact ratio. Be aware that this might lead to some parts of the image being cropped.

To adjust your desktop wallpaper:

  • macOS: Go to System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver, then select an image. You can choose ‘Fill Screen,’ ‘Fit to Screen,’ ‘Stretch to Fill Screen,’ or ‘Center’ to adjust how the image fits.

  • Windows 10 & 11: Right-click on the desktop, choose ‘Personalize,’ then ‘Background,’ and select an image. You can adjust the fit by selecting ‘Fill,’ ‘Fit,’ ‘Stretch,’ ‘Tile,’ or ‘Center.’

Wall Art

Our artworks are available in various formats. When purchasing, please consider that online printing services may offer more print options. For example, services like Photobox allow you to preview how an image will look on a printed item. We typically provide images in a 4:3 ratio, which is common for printed goods, but we also offer wide (16:9) and square (1:1) formats.
